Sue Barrowclough

Sue designs and handcrafts sterling silver jewelry using traditional silversmithing techniques. She has a deep appreciation for texture, which is often a prominent feature in her designs. Sue employs various methods, from striking silver sheet with a hammer to more intricate techniques such as reticulation, which involves heating, cooling, and cleaning the sheet approximately 12 to 15 times to achieve a lunar-like surface. Additionally, she has explored water casting, where molten silver is dropped into water, forming unique bowl shapes that are entirely different from one another, adding an exciting dimension to her work.
